Vietnamese Outreach Coordinator
Salima (She/her) is a Vietnamese Organizer where she is committed to support Vietnamese families who are facing displacement due to new developments happening in Dorchester in Boston and Southeast Asian Deportation. Salima currently serves as the Vietnamese Outreach Coordinator where she works with the Vietnamese community and folks that are impacted by Southeast Asian Deportation. Salima believes that families should be able to stay in their communities and not be forced by new developments and families should be able to stay together.
Salima grew up in Dorchester where she joined programs such as VietAID Leadership Program in highschool where she first got involved in social justice work, learning about her Vietnamese identity and problems within her own community. Salima joins the AARW team after getting involved with AARW through DOT-I... in college where she furthered her interest in Housing Justice and Southeast Asian Deportation work.
Outside of Organizing, Salima enjoys baking and loves to spend time with her dogs by going for long walks by the beach on sunny days.
