AARW Story Project’s Community Stories

Welcome to the Story Project’s Community Stories blog!

The purpose of AARW's Story Project is to document and archive the histories and experiences of Asian American communities through our own lens, whether it be about immigration, displacement, home, family, etc. Through the act of storytelling, we envision that this project can serve as a tool to connect personal experiences to larger social issues impacting our communities.

Over the past few months, we've adjusted the project to respond to this current moment and wanted to create space to allow folks to process whatever experiences/feelings were coming up for folks in response to the pandemic, the Black Lives Matter movement, etc. And longer-term, envision the story project as a platform and tool to amplify and strengthen the ongoing organizing we're doing against displacement (immigration/deportation, gentrification, surveillance and profiling, etc.), and broader.

Please feel free to explore, read through, reflect on, and process all of our community stories at your own pace. We hope you enjoy them!
